Blessings on the Wind

                              Blessings on the Wind

Dear friends, I am posting below a selection of photos of the prayer flags made at the Memorial Day in Whittlesford - enjoy!

To view these photos as a slide show, simply click (once) on the first image and then use the arrow on your computer keyboard to navigate your way though the image collection.

And here are some photos of the prayer flags in the garden...

There will be an opportunity for everyone to make some prayer flags at John's Memorial Day. We will keep you posted on our progress.

One of John's colleague who was not able to attend the day kindly offered to post her handmade prayer flag to me - I thought it was such a thoughtful gesture and a wonderful idea!

In return for everyone's kindness, I'd like to post some photos of all the flags made in memory of John as soon as they are ready to be placed outside. The flags will be in our back garden, near the fish pond, where John enjoyed many sunny summer afternoons. The photos of the flags will be posted on this page.

Encouraged by various flag-making ideas, I thought that it would be a shame to just let the flag-making die and go out of our lives after the 9th of March. I am sure that many new prayers and blessings will continue to be born after the Memorial Day and I think that the flag-making has a long life too. I am sure that we will have some spare (blank) flag sheets left after the Memorial Day and can use them to make more beautiful flags.

If anyone shares my flag- and prayer-making passion and would like to join me, please do get in touch.I am thinking to have a session fairly soon, possibly sometime around the end of March.

Everyone who has taken part (and will be taking part) in making the prayer flags is welcome to come and use our garden for a quiet prayer and meditation, or just to relax and enjoy the flags.

Just drop me a line or call to make sure that the garden is accessible when you are planning to come along.

Anna

I am very grateful to Jilly Shah and my mum for their help with making the blank prayer flags in preparation to the 9th of March event. We have many blank flags left over after the memorial day and there are plans to get together soon (would a weekend in April be ok with everyone? which one would suit best?) to continue making flags, enjoy some good food and each other's company etc.

Meanwhile, we are getting the flags ready to be placed outdoors. Here are some photos of my mum cutting the flags at the kitchen table:
